Outsource faxing customers come in all sizes ... from "mom and pop" to global corporations, and government - from local to federal.

In some cases, they implement it for one department only, some in the corporate headquarters only but most often, it is rolled out enterprise wide for a whole host of applications.

They outsourced because:
  • they had too many faxing (or other) headaches
  • their network/OS upgrades required new costly fax server software
  • their existing server started getting "flaky"
  • they needed process faxes faster than a fax machine can
  • their server license renewals were costly
  • they wanted to ingegrate their fax and email applications
  • they were moving to application driven faxing (XML)
  • customers complained about busy signals
  • of wasted "water cooler" time after using the fax machine
  • they needed to route inbound faxes to a shared folder or printer
  • they needed to improve security (TLS)
  • they realized that fax machines are very expensive to use
  • they wanted to implement improved cost management
  • fax broadcasts were taking too long
  • the office was moving to a paperless environment
  • they needed to better control their fax costs

If your organization sends/receives at least 1,000 fax pages per month, outsourced faxing will work for you.

If you never thought of your fax machine as a very costly way of faxing, think of the many steps needed to send a fax

-Your employee prints out the document[s] to be faxed
-They walk over to the fax machine, grab a blank cover page and fill it in
-They wait for the fax machine to be not busy
-They dial the fax number, possibly many times if it is busy
-They wait for all of the pages to feed through the fax machine
-They wait for the fax to complete and for the confirmation to print out
-They take all of the paper and either file it or throw it out.
-They wander back to their desk (possibly stopping for a chat first with someone)
-They get back to work.

Depending on their hourly wages, that fax cost you at least $.50 per page, and possibly, according to some studies, as much as $3.00 per page.
